Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones. Install new or freshly charged AA batteries before starting.
Download or delete all images on your SD memory card before starting the installation procedure because the images will be erased. Either use another SD memory card or format the corrupted card with another camera, SD card device or with your computer’s formatting tool. The firmware will not upload to the camera if you are using the corrupt card which causes the slow start-up problem.
